Senior Software Engineer
Early-stage AI companyFull-time
Own the product and platform surface of PolyBridge. Build the APIs, developer experience, frontend workflows, and infrastructure that turn our intelligence system into something customers and autonomous agents can actually use.
About Us
- We are an early-stage company working at the intersection of prediction markets and AI-driven statistical modelling. Prediction markets are one of the most epistemically interesting data sources available: prices set by participants with real financial skin in the game, continuously updated, and proven to outperform expert consensus on a wide range of outcomes. Our thesis is that this data is vastly underexploited. We apply rigorous causal graphical modelling and probabilistic inference to extract structured intelligence that goes well beyond what the raw market prices convey.
- We are backed by institutional investors and moving fast. Our platform ingests markets from multiple exchanges, constructs causal graphs over structured event data, and serves probabilistic forecasts through an API and interactive monitoring product. The technical foundation is in place. Now we need to build the product and infrastructure that puts it in the hands of customers and autonomous agents.
The Role
- We are looking for a senior software engineer to own the product and platform engineering side of the company. The co-founders are focused on the deep technical core: search performance, causal graph construction, and probabilistic inference. Everything else is yours.
- The most important part of this role is leading our agentic platform push. Our thesis is that AI agents will increasingly need to interpret the world to make good capital allocation decisions, and our system is built to serve that need. This means designing the API surface that agents consume, integrating payment rails so agents can transact programmatically, and making the platform compelling enough that agent builders choose us. This is greenfield product work at the intersection of AI infrastructure, financial plumbing, and agent design.
- You will also play a significant role in the customer-facing UX, keep the data and deployment infrastructure healthy, and do whatever else a two-person startup needs done on any given day. The role is roughly half agentic platform work, half general engineering. The split will move depending on what matters most that week.
- We are a small team that codes primarily through AI agents. This makes scope discipline and review rigour more important, not less. If you are energised by shipping fast in a high-autonomy environment where you can see the full blast radius of your decisions, this role is worth a conversation.
Responsibilities
- Agentic platform. Design and ship the agent-facing API surface: authentication, streaming, webhooks, SDKs, and developer documentation that make it trivial for AI agents to query forecasts, subscribe to monitoring sessions, and act on signals. Integrate payment rails using emerging agent payment standards and exchange APIs so that agents can allocate capital through the platform. Build the onboarding and developer experience that makes agent builders want to integrate with us, and build example agents that utilize the framework.
- Product and UX. Play a significant role in the customer-facing frontend: interactive monitoring dashboards, causal graph visualisation, scenario analysis tools, and the progressive streaming forecast experience. Build the delivery tools that put our intelligence in front of customers.
- Platform engineering and data operations. Keep the data ingestion pipeline healthy: market sync, price polling, and history backfill across multiple exchanges. Own database operations, deployment infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and cost management. Manage authentication, API key provisioning, rate limiting, and security. Run on Google Cloud (Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, Firestore).
- Agent risk and compliance. Implement guardrails, audit trails, and monitoring for autonomous agent actions. Design the controls that make programmatic capital allocation safe and auditable. This is where responsible agentic finance gets built.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: you write clean, reliable code and ship it to production without hand-holding
- Experience building APIs that external developers or automated systems consume: you think about developer experience, not just functionality
- Comfortable across the full stack: backend services, frontend interfaces, databases, deployment, and infrastructure. You do not need to be world-class at all of them, but you cannot be allergic to any of them
- Familiarity with modern web frameworks (React or equivalent) and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of Python and TypeScript. Our backend is Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, asyncio) and our frontend is React/Vite/TypeScript
- Genuine interest in the agentic AI space: you follow what is happening with autonomous agents, AI payment protocols, and machine-to-machine commerce, and you have opinions about where it is going
- Startup disposition: high autonomy, high ownership, low ego. You set your own agenda, ask for forgiveness rather than permission, and treat the company’s problems as your problems
- Comfortable working with and through AI coding agents. We develop primarily with AI assistance and expect you to be fluent in that workflow to accelerate progress.
Advantageous
- Experience with payment or financial infrastructure.
- Prior work on developer platforms, APIs, or SDKs.
- Familiarity with prediction markets, event-driven architectures, or real-time data systems.
- Experience at an early-stage startup where you wore many hats.
What We Offer
- Senior engineer role with meaningful equity in a venture-backed company
- Ownership of the product and platform surface: you decide how customers and agents interact with the system
- The chance to define the agentic infrastructure layer for an entirely new category of financial intelligence
- Problems that are genuinely interesting: causal inference, autonomous agent architecture, real-time probabilistic systems, and novel payment rails
- A small team where your work ships to production in hours, not quarters, and where every decision you make has visible impact
- Flexible working model
